West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited is also known as WESEDCL. The main business of WBSEDCL is distribution and hydro generation of electricity. It is also the nodal Agency of the Government of West Bengal for undertaking Rural Electrification task in the State with objective of providing access of electricity to all rural households in the state in line with the National Rural Electrification Policy.
West Bengal State Electricity distribution Company Limited - invites online applications for the posts of Assistant Engineer(Electrical), Assistant Engineer (Civil), Assistant Engineer (Mechanical), & Assistant Engineer (IT & C). B.Tech Passed Candidates and GATE 2019 Scorecard holder are eligible for this Posts. Maximum Age of the Candidates is 27 Years. The Last Date for submission of Online Applications is 08 April, 2019. Tentative Date of Personal Interview is June 2019.

SELECTION PROCESS
The Selection process will comprise the following:-
- The Graduate Engineers from the relevant disciplines, willing for taking up a career with WBSEDCL are required to appear in GATE-2019 in the corresponding GATE papers as mentioned below:

- Candidate will have to essentially qualify in GATE-2019 examination. In addition, candidates will have to appear for Personal Interview.
- Only GATE-2019 Score is Valid.
- Final Merit list of eligible candidates will be prepared based on the combined performance in GATE 2019 and Personal Interview process.
Weightage assigned to various parameters as per the following:-

- Students in the final semester of the qualifying course of study are also eligible to apply under notification only if they have appeared for GATE-2019.
- The Candidates will be allowed to appear for Personal Interview based on the self declaration submitter at the time of online registration and Payment of prescribed application fee (wherever applicable.)
- Candidates will be shortlisted for Personal Interview in 1:5 ratios (Category-wise of the advertised vacancies based on their performance in GATE-2019.
- The Personal Interview will be held in KOLKATA.
